Greetings,

Tempation to select Uruguay yesterday was strong. Not sure how I managed to stay away. Hope that the Brazil vs Mexico game does not fit into that category. It would certainly surprise me that post-Gold Cup Mexico suddenly puts it all together on defense and offense, for surprising result against the mighty B.

<st1:Street><st1:address>Chile PK</st1:address></st1:Street> -119 (5.5 units)
Ecuador today, and Brazil on July 1st. I would tend to believe that Chile's best chance for the W is today.

Just saw a stat, that in the last 12 matches 10 wins for Chile, 1 draw and 1 victory for Ecuador, 40 goals for Chile and 12 for Ecuador.......

I could throw you a sick actuarian stat that isolates the "suspicious death per capita" in Brazil, within the immediate 24hrs following a rare loss by the Brazilian National Team. I won't, as you no doubt are aware of this phenomenon.

Let us switch gears and consider the following:
4 points should be enough for mighty B to advance as a second place finisher. A more realistic scenario would see them win the next two for a six points gain, securing a spot for the elimination round. If you agree with this, you must still argue and commit to a statement such as: "then what the hell went wrong tonight!!!"

God knows! But consider the following "Holliwoody" scenario:
-Take the starting 11 for the mighty B, each with an average 9.2 immediate relatives.
-Forward sufficient funds to the above-mentioned's immediate circle with instruction for wager on Mexico. Actually, this transaction would not be limited to the starting 11, but the whole roster. From Dunga to the massage therapists, everyone on the list would profit. (Take it as a 65 million $ joke of a scam, worthy of a "Ocean's 14" script).

I know, I know, it's far-fetched. However, consider Mexico's lacklustre Gold Cup performance against the US in the final. Yes, let us give the win (somehow) to the american boys. No matter, we will be different against Brazil....because now it means so much more...

yeah that's some conspiracy theory all right. Fact is that Hugo's system is starting to work and Mexico are getting better each game. What you call a "lacklustre Gold Cup performance" in the final I'm not grasping at all. They were actually very good in the first half, should have easily been up a couple. This Mexican team have now been playing and practicing together for a month, and it shows.

Brazil, on the other hand, are using a squad that has not played at all together. Even the recent friendly vs England was played with a number of guys that weren't on the field last night (Ronaldinho, Kaka, Naldo, Daniel). Still, they dominated the final 30-35 minutes coming close several times including a crossbar.

and if they really wanted to bet against themselves they would not have chosen Mexico at +400 when they could have Chile or Ecuador at much more attractive prices

Correct me if I’m wrong: In Italy, <st1:City><st1:place>Cordoba</st1:place></st1:City> plays a physical centre-back. In this tournament he has been placed at the lateral, with the obvious expectations of bringing up the ball up the side (Cafu style). Sorry, I don’t think he’s suited for this role, as he does not have the true speed to get back and defend properly.

Good luck with the plays MA. I just couldn't find an edge/feel comfortable with any picks in the U20's. Though, the Chile Over 2.5 looks good so I might tail on that. I wanted to take Gambia but their line has been hit pretty hard. It was -0.5 yesterday, now at -1.

You're right about Cordoba. He's a centreback but he plays at fullback occasionally for Inter Milan. Mainly in an emergency, or sometimes as part of squad rotation. Completely agree, he's not the type to really fit that role.

Good luck bro!

GL MAD we are on the same side today, hope we can cash some money today!!!!

Cordoba has made a couple of mistakes playing in a different role and he has been critized for that, also Jorge Luis Pinto for putting him in that role. There are too many internal problems in Colombia hope that this doesnt matter for today and that they can get the win.

Good luck TR,

Great entertainment value in Copa America, but so many surprising results.
Hope Colombia have enough pride to want to perform, and beat the USA.

Great card MA. You went 5-1. Much appreciation for that Chile over play as I tailed.
